Rachel Sobczak, DPT
Dr. Rachel Sobczak, PT, DPT, (she/her/hers) grew up in Rochester, Minnesota before moving to Portland, Oregon in 2016.
She completed her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Carroll University in Waukesha, WI, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science in 2013 and her Clinical Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) in 2015.
She is excited and honored to be working alongside the very skilled team of therapists at Orthopedic & TMJ Physical Therapy Center.
Dr. Rachel uses a multifaceted approach for her treatments. She integrates her years of clinical experience, manual therapy techniques, pain science education and functional yoga movements to create individual and holistic treatment plans.
She approaches her work full of curiosity and amazement. She believes that the human body is incredible, resilient and powerful. She integrates current literature and proven treatment methods to find unique and effective solutions for each individual she works with.
SPECIALITIES: Orofacial pain, TMD, headaches, pelvic pain, pelvic dysfunction and the jaw-pelvic connection.
Dr. Rachel is a passionate lifelong learner. She is currently in training to receive her cervical and temporomandibular therapeutics certification (CCTT) and her pelvic rehab practitioner certification (PRPC).
In addition to her work as a clinician, Rachel enjoys teaching and lecturing in Portland about the physical therapy approach to TMD along with the biopsychosocial model of pain science.
When she isn’t working, you can find her making ceramics in her home studio, playing board games and making music with her husband Derek, or exploring the PNW with her dog River.
