Sunny, E-RYT, PT Aide
We are happy to welcome Sunny to our practice.
Rebecca Sunshine (MSc, E-RYT, YACEP) is Sunny by name and sunny by vibe. For her and many others, Yoga is a reference point: a return to center. A practice where she can cultivate awareness, gather strength, share her love, and live a fuller life with more intention.
Sunny is a California-grown explorer whose first language was body language. In her early 20’s she moved abroad to Europe where she spent the better part of the last decade in business development roles for start-ups in Berlin, London and Tel Aviv. The unrealistic demands of her jobs and the near-burnout that came with it all exacerbated her stress, anxiety and depression leading her to a 10-day Vipassana meditation retreat in 2015.
After this very uncomfortable and somewhat surgical experience of sitting with herself for approximately 12 hours a day, 10 days in a row, it was apparent that something within her had shifted and her purpose became investing energy into supporting others on the path of self-inquiry, self-love, and healing.
Since 2016 she has trained with teachers all around the world in the following modalities: Dynamic Mindfulness, Zen Buddhism, Vinyasa Yoga, Yoga Biomechanics, Somatic Restorative Yoga and Body Work, Accessible Yoga, Trauma-informed Yoga for Children, Teens and Adults, and Thai Yoga Massage.
Sunny is currently enrolled at Oregon School of Massage on the LMT track and is very active in the Portland / Vancouver area. Away from the clinic, you’ll find her teaching cardio dance and Yoga, hosting community walking events, leading retreats, tap dancing and writing poetry.
